Welcome to the St. Mary's Car Club:
The purpose of this car club is to promote the antique car collector hobby, and to provide a means for members and others to meet, socialize, show their cars and help one another find, restore, modify and maintain their vintage cars and hot rods.
How did the Car Club start?
In 2011 CBC prepared a Land &Sea special "Car Buffs of the Bay" that presented a great look at who started car collecting and how it has ballooned into a craze.....attached is the link to that TV special...
A short time after that in late 2012 a few car guys met and started to discuss the formation of an official car club.....and in February 2013 is was created. Since that time we have grown to 45 members and are involved in fund raising efforts for charities and taking part in many car cruises and car shows around the Avalon area.
Gulch Beach Festival:
This has been an annual event at the Gulch Beach for more than a decade ,it features a family oriented atmosphere of food ,fun and games. Its also where the classic car cruise had its beginnings.....in 2001 St. Mary's celebrated a "Come Home Year" and it had a classic car parade to the beach at the end of the Gulch Road, and this has been a yearly event since that time.....we now have over 100 classic cars and trucks every year along with BBQ's ; prizes and ticket draws.....its a great community event.
This years 15th Annual Gulch Day Car Show was held on Saturday August 4th with a huge showing again with over 100 classic and muscle cars registered at the community hall.
